Lifehouse

Don't you love it when you buy a cd and wear it out and then shelve it for a while and them come back to it and it rocks harder. Well Lifehouse is one of those instances. I bought their first Cd about five or six years ago and loved it. Just recently I discovered a new song by them called you and me. Since then it's almost into the 50s in play count on my iTunes. I just love that song. What some may not know is that Lifehouse is a Christian band. Although in the mainstream Lifehouse is the first Switchfoot. Don't believe me check out the lyrics to my new favorite song called Storm.
how long have I
been in this storm
so overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form
water's getting harder to tread
with these waves crashing over my head

if I could just see you
everything will be alright
if I'd see you
the storminess will turn to light

and I will walk on water
and you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
and everything will be alright

I know you didn't
bring me out here to drown
so why am I 10 feet under and upside down
barely surviving has become my purpose
cause I'm so used to living underneath the surface

if I could just see you
everything will be alright
if I see you
the storminess will turn to light

and I will walk on water
and you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright

and I will walk on water
you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
I know everything is alright
everything's alright
I can't tell you how many times I have felt like this and God has rescued me. Hope you can find encouragement in this song.

Just so you know...

When Lifehouse's "Hanging On A Moment" became 2001's hottest single, most fans probably didn't realize they were listening to a song that had first been played at the Malibu Vineyard.

They started as a worship band at Malibu Vineyard. They did not want to be marketed as a "Christian" band, but rest assured, their songs and lyrics are deeply spiritual. Like Jason said, they're the first Switchfood, Mute Math. Christian artists being marketed to the main stream instead of to the "Christian" market. It's a marketing ploy to avoid being pigeonholed.

Semantics.

Call them what you want, it doesn't change what they are.
